Jing Xu
Renal pathologist and physician-scientist bridging glomerular disease diagnosis and machine learning.
Jing Xu, MD, is a nephrologist and renal pathologist and an Associate Chief Physician in the Department of Nephrology at Ruijin Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. Her clinical and research work centers on the diagnostic pathology of glomerular disease — including membranous nephropathy (PLA2R- and NELL-1-associated), ANCA-associated vasculitis, lupus nephritis, and IgA nephropathy — integrating serologic, morphologic, and ultrastructural findings with clinical outcomes.
She is currently a visiting scholar in the Department of Pathology at the University of Chicago, where she extends renal pathology toward artificial intelligence and machine learning — developing computational methods that support glomerular lesion classification, prognostication, and the renal biopsy workflow.
